The Low Cost Chocorua Trail Timberland Boot That Conquered Israel

The Chocorua Trail Timberland Boot

Before my trip to Israel last year I wanted to pick up a pair of hiking boots. I had heard from a friend that Timberland's Gore-Tex Chocorua Trail Mid Hikerboot would be a good hiking boot to take with me. So I bought a pair online for a very good price and a few days later they arrived. They fitted great and I was looking forward to my hike in Israel's Negev desert with my new boots.

Hiking in the Negev Desert

These boots performed great in the Negev. The boot is light weight but sturdy and molds to your feet. In the sun my feet were very comfortable and I was able to climb up and down some narrow rocky paths with great ease, conquering steep hills easily. The boots have good traction and feel great under all conditions. The only problem I have with the Chocorua is that they are so darn comfortable I started to wear them all the time. I was eating a falafel (pita bread with salad) in a Jerusalem restaurant and some red sauce dripped on one of the boots. I just poured some water on the boot to clean it off and finished my lunch. You never know when watrerproof boots come in handy!

Back in the US

When I returned back to the states I wore the boots for my Sunday strolls from Manhattan's Upper West Side through Central Park to Midtown. The Chocorua are a comfortable walking boot. When winter came I wore these boots almost everyday in the snow and slush and the boot's gore-tex kept my feet dry. This is a great urban walking boot. My complaint with this boot is that I wish they came as a slip on. I hate lacing up any shoe. But that is just me.

This is one the strangest phenomena that I have witness. As boring as this video might appear to be, it has great significant to unlocking the secrets of Orbs behaviour. Here all the dirt you see was placed by orbs as they built their resting place (home). Notice that the dirt is not refined like that found at ant hills and there are no ants present and you can see the faces of clan-spirits embedded into the lumpy dirt. But I went through many a 12-pack, "shot-gunning" one beer, while sipping on a second, when I was on the road. It was a cheap way to get a beer buzz! I actually started "shooting" beers when I was in college. The activity is also called "submarining a beer." It is where a person cuts a hole in the bottom of a can of beer, and then, holding that hole to their mouth, releases the beer by opening the tab on the top of the beer. Effectively it allows the beer to flow like a "beer bong." Okay, so I guess I'm showing my age. I was shot-gunning beers before they invented beer bongs! Anyway, my best time was clocked by two independent timers on separate watches, both so surprised that before confirming with their time, they asked the other, "What time did you get?" They agreed it was something close to 2 seconds to down a 12 oz beer. Okay, no Guinness Book world record (I looked it up). But in my prime I did alright, LOL! Tonight's showing was the first beer submarined in several years (probably closer to ten years). I believe it was respectable.
